Limit the number of responses to accept

By default, Vista surveys and forms are configured to accept responses indefinitely. You can stop a survey from accepting responses by suspending the survey (Pause a survey) or specifying the last date to accept responses (Stop a survey).

You also can stop a survey from accepting responses by specifying a maximum number of responses for the survey.

  1. In Response limit settings on the Security tab click Change.

  2. Choose Specify a maximum number of responses for the survey and click Next.

  3. Enter a number for the maximum number of responses and click Next. The new response limit setting is displayed on the Security tab.

When the maximum number of survey responses is reached, users who attempt to respond to the survey receive the statement "This survey is no longer active". For the steps to change this statement, see Changing button text.
