Query Start Question

You can use the Query Start question to add a question at the beginning of your questionnaire asking the user if they want to participate in the survey.  Here's an example of the Query Start question:

Query Start question

A typical application of the Query Start question is in a pop-up survey that displays to your Web site visitors.

Note the following about the Query Start question:

  • This question should be the first question in your survey, and it should be followed by a Page Break;
  • If the respondent chooses No, they will be exited from the survey and the response will NOT be counted toward your response total.

The following is a description of the fields in the Query Start edit screen:

  • Message to display - Entry field for question text.  You can use the formatting toolbar to add formatting to the question such as text size, text formatting (bold, italic, underline), color, etc.
  • Ask if - Click this button to set the condition(s) under which this question will be asked, i.e. branching and conditional logic.  For more information, see the Ask if Logic page.
