Inserting surveys and forms into your Web site

Using Vista's Launch Wizard, you can add your Vista survey or form to your Web site in the following ways:

Add a Web link to your survey or form

  1. Click the Launch tab and click the Launch Wizard.
     
  2. Choose the option I will add a link or popup to my Web site, and click Next.
     
  3. Choose either User clicks a hyperlink to start the survey or Automatically display a popup to a fraction of visitors. Click Next.
      
  4. Choose one of the following options, and click Next.
     
    Separate popup window - If you choose this option, the Launch Wizard will ask you for the width and height of the popup window. If you are not familiar with pixel dimensions, use the default values of 680x450. These default values will enable all visitors to view the popup window regardless of the screen dimensions of their computer monitor.
     
    Main browser window - If you select this option, when a Web site visitor clicks the Web link to your survey the Web browser will navigate away from your Web site to display the survey.
     
  5. Enter the text that you want to display as the survey's hyperlink. Click Next.
      
  6. If you chose Separate popup window, enter the popup window dimensions or choose the default values (recommended). Click Next
      
  7. The Launch Wizard displays a Launch Instructions page containing the HTML code needed to add a Web link to your Web site.

  8. Click Copy. If you using a Web browser other than Internet Explorer, select the HTML code and press Ctrl+C.
     
    Next you will paste the HTML code into a Web page on your Web site. If you are not responsible for your Web site and do not have access to it, or if you are unfamiliar with HTML, contact your Web site administrator and provide him or her with the HTML code generated by Vista.
     
  9. Using your Web site's editing program, open the Web page on which you want to post your survey.
     
  10. Paste the HTML code that was generated by Vista into the Web page.  

Add a popup window containing your survey or form

  1. Click the Launch tab and click the Launch Wizard.
      
  2. Choose I will add a link or popup to my Web site.  Click Next.
     
  3. Choose Automatically display a popup to a fraction of visitors.  Click Next.
     
  4. Choose the popup window attributes:
     
    - Enter a number for the percentage of Web site visitors that you want to see the popup window.
     
    - Enter the width and height of the popup window in pixels. If you are not familiar with pixel dimensions, use the default values of 680x450. These default values will enable all visitors to view the popup window regardless of the screen dimensions of their computer monitor.
     
    - Choose whether you want the popup window to appear when a user enters or exits the Web page.
     
  5. Click Next.
      
  6. The Launch Wizard displays a Launch Instructions page containing the HTML code needed to add a popup window to your Web site.

  7. Click Copy. If you using a Web browser other than Internet Explorer, select the HTML code and press Ctrl+C.
     
    Next you will paste the HTML code into a Web page on your Web site. If you are not responsible for your Web site and do not have access to it, or if you are unfamiliar with HTML, contact your Web site administrator and provide him or her with the HTML code generated by Vista.
     
  8. Using your Web site's editing program, open the Web page on which you want to post your survey.
      
  9. Paste the HTML code that was generated by Vista into the Web page.
